There are several things that the relocation specialist will review when planning your cross-country move. You’ll be asked to review this booklet called “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move” which is required by law. We’ll also discuss the available dates that work best for both you and our movers. Long-distance moves require a good deal of coordination, so we’ll also need to check available times and delivery dates. We also need to ensure that our trailers can safely access the roads & driveways when loading and unloading at both the final destination and the starting location. This is important, as a smaller moving truck may be needed to shuttle your belongings to or from a location where the tractor trailer doesn’t fit. On moving day, our interstate movers will arrive to load your packed belongings. This is an important process, as items are inventoried and labeled, ensuring that there is an actual record of everything that is placed on the truck.
Going the Distance for You
Once the truck has been loaded, the movers will go to a weigh station and weigh the loaded truck. If desired, a copy of this weight ticket can be provided. Our long distance movers will communicate delivery updates, and provide a 24-hour notice of their delivery arrival time within a one-hour window. As the items are unloaded at the destination, they are checked off the inventory list to verify their arrival and condition. You should conduct a final walk-through with your driver to confirm that your furniture and items are positioned in the appropriate rooms.
