Our Rates

The time starts when the movers arrive at your loading location and continues until the work is completed at your final destination, and includes the time spent traveling between your various locations. The trip charge is added to account for the time spent getting out to you and back home again. We generally say that it takes one to one-and-an-half hours of moving time per fully furnished room. Remember that it may take a little longer if you live in a location with an elevator, multiple flights of stairs, or if there is a long walk from where the truck can park to your front door.

We schedule our trucks so that we can arrive at your jobsite as early in the day as possible. We give you an estimated time of arrival. We stay in touch with you on the moving day. Important: If you have transferred or terminated your phone service, make sure to provide us with mobile numbers so that we can reach you at both your loading and unloading locations. We always work until we are finished or until you want us to leave, whichever comes first.

We require a security deposit to secure the date and time of your move. For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Packing Supplies

Wardrobe cartons are available for your use on the day of the move for a small rental charge. A wardrobe box is basically a portable closet. Your clothes are hung in the box from a metal bar. Each box holds 18" - 24" of clothes hanging on a bar in your closet, depending on the type of clothing. We carry a full line of packing supplies and have FREE delivery for all orders over $135.

Valuation Coverage

As the best movers in Central Virginia, we go the extra mile to make sure your belongings are protected and do our best to make sure that nothing gets broken. But sometimes accidents happen even to the best crews, so My Guys Moving offers the industry's standard Valuation Coverage at no additional charge. If you feel that you need additional protection, you can call us to purchase higher coverage amounts for your move.

Afternoon Jobs

As a service to our customers, we schedule moving jobs in the afternoon for those who either cannot move in the morning or those who need to move on days when we have previously scheduled jobs in the morning. If we book your order for an afternoon slot, we literally will arrive AFTER noon. Our arrival time depends on how the morning job prior to yours went and if that person gave us an accurate assessment of the work that was to be done.

We realize that when you schedule our service, you are depending on us to be there and take care of your move. Afternoon moves generally involve more variables, so our arrival time is less predictable. Please keep this in mind when you schedule an afternoon job. We ask for your patience. If your move has an afternoon start time, please feel free to give us a call around noon on moving day, so that we can contact your crew and give you an idea of the crew's arrival time.
