My Guys of Richmond provides local moving and packing services at an hourly rate, plus a trip and fuel surcharge. Our rates will vary based on the date and time that you need to move. Our guys are experienced movers and professionally trained to treat your belongings with the utmost care! The time for your move starts when the movers arrive at your loading location and continues until the work is completed at your final destination, and includes the time spent traveling between your locations. The trip charge, usually an additional hour, is added to account for the time spent getting out to your location and then back to our office once the movers are finished with your move. We generally say that it takes one to one-and-a-half hours of moving time per fully furnished room. It may take a little longer if you live in a location with an elevator, multiple flights of stairs, or if there is a long walk from where the truck can park to your front door. Unlike some movers, we have no hidden fees or charges. We require a security deposit to secure the date and time of your move. For your convenience we accept checks, cash, and any major credit or debit card, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Liability Coverage

We include $0.60 per pound per article up to $50 per item at no charge. Other valuations and deductibles are available for a premium.

Intrastate Moving within Virginia

My Guys of Richmond provides long distance intrastate moves of over 50 miles within the state of Virginia. We used a state mandated tariff system that calculates the price of your move based on the weight of your shipment and the miles between your locations. We are a licensed, certified and qualified member of the Virginia Movers and Warehousemen's Association. We generally estimate that a fully furnished room weighs between 1000 to 1200 pounds. To get an exact weight of your shipment, our drivers will weigh their trucks at certified weigh scales before they pick up your household goods and then once again after they have loaded your entire shipment. We then take the difference as the actual weight of your shipment and put it into the state mandated tariff system that calculates the actual charges for your move. As soon as we have the actual price for your relocation, we will call you to notify you of what the final bill will be. This means that you will know the actual price of your move before we even deliver your items. We require a security deposit to secure the date and time of your move. For your convenience we accept checks, cash, and any major credit or debit card, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

International Moving

My Guys of Richmond is more than just a local mover. We have experience moving both personal and business shipments internationally as well. We have handled moves to other countries such as India, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Norway. We have experience assisting in any form of international move. We have assisted in handling and preparing shipments for air freighting and crating goods into overseas containers. We have experience in loading “lift-van” crates, specially built crates for international moves, and specialty tri-walled cardboard boxes for airfreight shipments. If you're moving with My Guys Moving of Richmond, just ask us for some specially marked boxes that you can put your non-perishable food into. Our guys will bring the boxes with them and even take them back with them to the Central Virginia Food Bank. Even if you aren't moving with us, please consider making a donation of the canned goods you won't be moving so that they can go to the Central Virginia Food Bank! Storage Options

My Guys of Richmond provides containerized storage in our company owned climate-controlled warehouse. Our warehouse and our movers are military qualified, which means that we meet or exceed all government standard for warehouse storage. We keep all of your belongings in “vaults,” or large wooden crates to prevent any damage to your items. We typically estimate that a vault holds about an average room of furniture and boxes. Any larger items, such as overstuffed couches and chairs would be carefully and skillfully shrink-wrapped, to prevent dust and sweating from affecting your furniture. Due to the nature of our storage, we offer long-term storage instead of conventional storage units. If you are looking to be able to get frequent access to your storage unit, we would advise that you use a self-storage facility, as they would be more suited to your needs. We charge per vault of items to move into our storage plus a trip charge and a fuel surcharge. The trip charge and the fuel surcharge covers getting our movers from our office to your location to load your items and then back to our warehouse. The charge per vault covers our movers loading your belongings from your location into our truck, then transporting your items back to our warehouse and packing and loading them into the vaults. Then, there is a charge per month to maintain your vaults in our warehouse. When you are ready to move out of our storage, if you are moving locally, the charge to move out would be the same as the charge to move in.

Interstate Moving

As an interstate mover, we can move you anywhere in the country. We are military approved, so we meet the most stringent requirements of any professional moving company. We carry a full line of packing supplies and have free delivery for customer orders of packing materials over 5. We also have used boxes in our warehouse, that our booked customers can come pick up for free! Military Moving

My Guys of Richmond has been handling military moving for over 10 years. All of our employees have to meet all government standard for military moving, including background checks and drug testing. Our warehouse is also military qualified, meeting and exceeding all government standard for military storage. Our warehouse has a state of the art security system, is climate controlled and pest controlled. My Guys Moving represents Fort Lee and Fort Belvoir in Virginia for their inbound and outbound moves for military members, both retired and active duty. All of our movers have experience not only in military moving, but also in military packing and unpacking. We make sure that all of our movers have at least 2 or more years moving experience and know all of the procedures and policies regarding military moving and packing. We are qualified and have experience handling interstate military moves for the Department of Defense.
